    Joint Replacement

Joint replacement is a surgical procedure in which a damaged or severely diseased joint is replaced with an artificial joint to help relieve pain and improve mobility and function. It may be considered when joint damage significantly affects everyday activities and other treatment options have not provided adequate relief.

Dr. Lt Col Rupesh provides evaluation and treatment planning for selected patients with advanced joint conditions, with particular clinical focus on knee and hip replacement surgery. Treatment decisions are based on the patient’s symptoms, clinical findings, imaging and overall health.

The goal of joint replacement care is to reduce pain, improve mobility and help patients return to their everyday activities.

    Understanding Joint Replacement

Joints can become damaged due to conditions such as osteoarthritis, inflammatory joint disease, previous injuries or other degenerative changes. When damage becomes severe, patients may experience persistent pain, stiffness and difficulty performing routine activities.

Joint replacement involves removing damaged joint surfaces and replacing them with specially designed prosthetic components. The type of procedure and implant used depends on the affected joint, the extent of damage and individual patient factors.

    Persistent joint pain or stiffness
Difficulty walking or performing daily activities
    Advanced joint degeneration
Symptoms not adequately controlled with non-surgical treatment
